I knew Paddy over many years in UCD, I think he started work in the library about the same time as me. A warm smile, a twinkle in his eye and a keen wit. Paddy was both a gentle man and a gentleman. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. 'Ní bheidh do leithéid arís ann’

Paddy was a true gent and the best type of colleague in UCD Library. The twinkle in his eye was only matched by his (non existent) winning racing tips. Our football and racing chats broke all the rules but with him supporting Arsenal and me QPR he always had the bragging rights there ..... yes even now :)

To Paddys family, I worked with Paddy in the James Joyce Library, UCD for many years. He was a pleasure to work with, so friendly and warm and kind and helpful to everyone. I enjoyed chatting with him at the point. He was sorely missed by his colleagues in the JJL when he retired. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

I am so saddened to hear of Paddy's passing he was a wonderful colleague to all of us in UCD Library and left a gaping hole when he retired he was missed by all in reader services following his retirement. I knew him all his work life and shared many lifts home to Dublin 6. with him. He was great company with a good sense of fun and humor and the lovelist person to have on the team. Sincere condolences to his family and all in Rathmines who will miss him. RIP Paddy.
