Paddy Lyons

Paddy is fondly remembered. He was wonderfully mischievous; always with humour in his voice, and a sparkle of laughter in his eye (even after he lost one of his eyes, for which he would say in a raised pitch “…the butchers took one of my beautiful blue eyes …”). I have an early memory as a child running to find him, me shouting that I had set his tractor alight, and on my way kicking-over a pale of milk (and yes, I did cry over spilt milk). He later had me hold a cane in the kitchen and run-around it in tight circles, and then he said “ … stand up straight …”, which I did and subsequently, as a small human tornado, knocked the best-china off the lower shelf of the dresser. The cane was taken away and Paddy was scolded for his causing havoc. Loving thoughts, Owen (nephew) and family, and Una (sister).
