He kindly adopted my cat, when I moved away from Tullavilla. On subsequent phone calls and visits he would give me detailed, amusing updates on the cat's adventures. He was a great man for the local news, be it about people or animals. He loved his Westerns and I always think of him when I see one of the oldies on tv.
They don't make your kind anymore Paddy. You will be missed. Rest well.
