What a great Man! He was a teacher when I was at DGS. He was instrumental in helping me put together a reunion of DGS classmates in 2004. At the end of which he gave us all DGS ties. I still do some of the physical exercises he taught us. Cheers Paddy!

To the whole Hogan family, my sincere sympathies. I first met Paddy over 40 years ago at the Friary, he recognised my scarf as being a college Science scarf colours, and encourage me to continue with the science career. Anytime thereafter he always had time to chat and ask how I was getting on. I`m still a scientist.
Paddy was a true gentleman, and a great contributor to Dundalk and to education.

Deepest sympathy to Mrs Hogan and family on the death of Paddy. He gave so much of his time to us students in DGS. Always a pleasure to meet him in our after school years. May he rest in everlasting peace.
I was very saddened to hear of the recent passing of Paddy Hogan. Not only do I recall him as an educator of some note but also a great lover of jazz music. His enthusiasms and good cheer were infectious; clearly he contributed positively to a great many, so I feel very appreciative that our paths crossed.
Fond memories indeed and if I may for a moment: I vividly recall a science demo whereby he deliberately blew of the lid of an old tin using nothing but a candle, a bit of tubing and some custard powder! No one knew what was coming (as he gave nothing away with a calm & smooth delivery) so when the lid hit the ceiling of the lab with a clatter it shocked all students present! I can still recall the cheeky grin and the twinkle in the eye...
Therefore, my sincerest sympathies to his wife Martha at this very difficult time, his sons: Darragh, Fergus & Ken, extended family, grand kids & many working colleagues...
If I may simply say thank you, I hope this suffices.
May Paddy rest in gentle peace in the “land of dreams” and on the “sunny side of the street” as the tunes he enjoyed so dearly remind us...

Deepest sympathy to dear Martha, Fergus, Darragh, Ken , & the Hogan family on the death of the incomparable Paddy, May his gentle soul rest in peace. What a wonderfully talented & caring person he was & in our early days we were thrilled to be at Paddy’s table at the Grammar School annual Debs Ball. Among all his myriad attributes the most important in my eyes in those heady times was that he was a keen ballroom dancer & a magical jiver. The anticipation of my turns round the floor with Paddy were the stuff of dreams & I silently blessed Martha for giving him free rein to do his “duty” dances. May the many happy memories of the great life that Paddy & Martha shared console you all in your grief. Carmel
