We met both Paddy and Irene on a flight to San diego in 2015. Always will be remembered. Paddy Such a gentleman. So passionate about Mayo Football. Great chat about his time in Donegal as a Garda in the late 40,s. Sad to hear of his passing. Sorry never got to meet him again. Sincere sympathy to all Paddy's family. May he rest in peace 🙏.

Heartfelt condolences to the Prendergast family on the sad passing of Paddy. I have wonderful memories of Paddy calling to the house in Clash. His arrival was announced simply as 'The P is here'! He always had a twinkle in his eye and a big, beaming smile. He was a great man for the chat and a story. He was a great friend to dad always and I know he will miss him sorely.
Paddy will be fondly remembered by everyone in the Cunnane family.

I listened to the All Ireland of 1951 as a young lad and Paddy Prendergast was outstanding. Michael OHaires comments were WHEN THEY ARE WRITING HISTORY ABOUT GAELIC FOOTBALL, LET THEM NEVER FORGET PADDY PRENDERGAST. How right he was

Paddy and some colleagues, linked up with our group when we were in Tralee in Sept '18 and his participation was a highlight in a night of fun and laughter.

Our Sincere sympathy to Mrs Prendergast and family on the passing of Paddy he was a real gentleman. We had a Shell filling Station and paddy would call every month and we would spend almost 2 hours chatting and drinking tea such lovely memories. May Paddy rest in peace.

Fond memories as a boy on Saturdays 60 years ago, travelling with Paddy and my father Ray over to Ballybunion for some serious golf. Paddy’s caddy always got the full 7/6, but the shortfall in my much reduced family-rate fee was more than made up for in the clubhouse afterwards listening to the marvellous stories, wit and repartee with Paddy always at the centre of things.
May he rest in peace.

To Irene, Petra, Siobhan , Mark and your families - Sisters Barbara and Carmel and the extended Prendergast family my deepest sympathy. I was on my way to the funeral when my car broke down so unfortunately could not make it. Paddy was truly an exceptional gentleman and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

Sincere sympathy to the Prendercast family on Paddy,s passing. As a young guard he was
stationed in Dungloe ,Co. Donegal back in the 1940,s. My late father was Sergeant and the
other guards were Paddy Kennedy from West Kerry, Frank White from Sligo and Joe Wilson
from Cavan. They were all relatively young and were a happy bunch.Paddy,s big smile and
sense of humour really stood out. My brother and myself visited from time to time and no doubt were a nuisance trying on handcuffs and asking lots of questions.One day Paddy showed us the cell
or Black Hole as it was known ,our curiosity led us in to try it out, Paddy closed the door and left us there.we learned a good lesson Paddy moved to other employment a few years later but always kept in contact with my father,calling to visit whenever he was in the area.
They have now all passed to their eternal reward, may Paddy and his colleagues of old rest in peace.

The children had to stand outside the open window on the grass, the kitchen was full of grown ups. The wet & dry batteries of the wireless were new and fully charged and from it the name Paddy Prendergast come floating out new to my six year old ears that Sunday in 1951.

When we were living in Claregalway “ THE P”called on us occasionally on his way to Ballintubber from Tralee..Whatever form you were in when he called you were so much better afterwards. It was his charisma , his “roguish smile “ his capacity to tell a good story that lit up any room..
