Unfortunately, I was abroad when I heard of Pádraic's death and unable to attend the funeral service. We knew each other from the 1950's when Pádraic was Assistant Manager of the Shelbourne Hotel and I was a young photographer with the Evening Press. It was always a great pleasure to meet in the intervening years or have a brief chat together in Elm Park Golf Club. He was an exceptional person in all aspects of his long life. May he rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to all the family. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

My dad Colm (Padraic’s brother), asked Padraic to be my godfather and so began a relationship of friendship, advice, fun and joy that has sustained me over all these years. When Pat and I married Padraic extended the relationship to include my husband. Padraic will be sadly missed by us both. He was a joy. Ann
Dear Terry, Robert, Lucy, Donal, Joanne and family:
Our prayers are with you all. We so enjoyed visiting with your Dad when we were there back in August 2019. Even at 92 he was the "life of the party", as we Americans are prone to say. (I'm sure we aren't telling you anything that you didn't already know.)
He certainly lived a long life and was well loved by all who knew him.

Dear Terry
I was very sorry to hear of the death of Padraig. It was always a pleasure to be in company with him. As you know, he was a member Of Elm Park Golf Club for over 60 years and his memory regarding the history of the club was crystal clear. When I was asked to write a history of the Harriers I naturally consulted him as he had been a Master Harrier a long time ago.. He was able to provide many happy and interesting items of history that made the chapter in the book to commemorate our centenary year very interesting. I am very grateful to him for his help. Please accept my condolences Pierce Meagher
