To Padraig’s wife and family. And to Mary, Joseph and John. I wish to express my sincere sympathies on Padraig’s passing. I know I speak for my family when I say: I grew up opposite the Gibbons’ farm in Ballyhean and spent many youthful years playing with Padraig and his siblings. Those years were filled with fun and very happy memories. Paddy, Padraig’s father used often carry me to school on his bike under his postman’s rain cape. Ann, Padraig’s mother was always so nice and gave us plenty of home made apple/rhubarb/gooseberry pie. We in turn supplied the apples and turf from our bog. A simple time. May you rest in peace Padraig. You were always a friendly likeable soul.

I was very sorry to hear of Padraic’s death ,ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam. He was very kind to us when we were all children in Ballyheane , he being slightly older . I had only met him a few times in later years and he was as kind and boyishly energetic as he had been as a young lad . I am very sorry for your loss .

I met Padraic for the first time many years ago at Balla Pipe Band practice, over the years I met him many times while playing in the band, always a warm welcome with a lovely gentle smile. Nuala May God give you strength to carry two heavy crosses, the loss recently of your lovely Sister Breda and now the loss of your wonderful Husband Padraic, they both had lives well lived and may the rest easy in the rooms prepared for them in Gods House.
