I first me Pat at Scotland Yard when we started being tested for being super recognisers and he was immediately friendly, warm and welcoming. I would go on to regularly work with him over the following years, including regular postings to the Notting Hill Carnival and I would look forward to seeing Pat again as a friend at every event. It is cliche to say that our team become like a second family in the police, but this what they become with the close relationships and the time spent together. Despite the infrequence of our working together, the super recogniser team and Pat felt the same. We would spend time catching up and laughing, and Pat played a key part in this. I will miss him and I am glad to have his memory to keep with me.
