Comhbhrón ó chroí le Vera agus leis an teaghlach ar fad, agus le cairde Phádraig. Rinne Pádraig éachtaí oibre ar son na Gaeilge i Luimneach agus ba mhór an phribhléid dúinn bheith ag comhoibriú leis, agus a chomhairle a fháil. Tá cuimhní iontacha againn ar Phádraig ag cóisir na Nollag, agus ar ócáidí eile agus a fhís á roinnt aige go fial agus go heolach. Leaba i measc na naomh aige, agus beannacht Dé lena anam.

It is with deep sadness that I send this condolences for Pat MacDonagh. I have known Pat, initially as my boss, but then as a true and trusted friend. I was transferred to
CoACT (Limerick College of Art, Commerce and Technology) in 1986 and we saw a
total transformation since then.
Pat was dedicated to providing Education, at all levels, and was thrilled to see the
College grow from humble beginnings to achieve University Status with TUS.
However, despite putting an enormous efforts into this task, he would be the first
to say that it was a TEAM operation and he frequently made this known to anybody
who would listen to him. However, all teams need a leader and he stepped into that
void.
Pat was passionate about the College and I am sure his family often wondered why
he spent such long hours at work, particularly in the early years when resources and
finance were in limited supply. However, it paid off and they should share in his
pleasure at this achievement. Vera must also take credit, as she was clearly the
love of his life.
I will miss Pat, he was initially my boss, but quickly became a true and trusted friend
and I shall miss him deeply.
Mary Costello and
Captain Michael Egan.

Our deepest sympathies on the death of Pat to Vera, and to Cliona, Bairbre, Padraig and Eadaoin. This must be a most difficult time and our thoughts are with you.

We knew Pat so well as a convivial neighbour, delightful to meet up with on the road and in the shops. Pat was a talented gardener and he gave us a gift of a loganberry plant. This still thrives and regularly brings us fruits.

We also knew and respected Pat especially in his role as Director of Limerick Institute of Technology. Pat brought a firm direction and clear guidance to the Institute, a value that was of much benefit for so many years.
