I had so many memorable fishing trips with Padraig on the Blackwater and in British Columbia. No less a writer than Tom McGuane found him hilarious company on the Dean.
I will have to get a bottle of Wither Hills-a favourite of his-to drink a toast to many happy days on a river. His anecdotes will live on.

Dear Barbara, Liz, Fergus, Felicity and Conor,
I was very sad tonight to hear about the loss of your beloved Padraig.

Mr Doyle was truly a gentle man. He always had a kind word and a warm welcome for us as small children and he was a wonderful neighbour to Mum and Dad. His cryptic notes dropped through the letterbox always made us laugh and his sense of humour, fun and friendship enriched Dad’s life greatly in their later years of golfing adventures and travels together. Thanks to his creativity, Bob and I have our weddings captured forever on film from the perspective of one of our treasured guests and we’ll always be grateful to him for that.

I hope your lifetime of memories will bring you comfort in time. I will remember him with great fondness. May his gentle soul rest in peace. With love and heartfelt condolences from Rachel McCrossan x
