Mary, Joe, Tommy, Sandra, Aoibheann, Liam, Oisín, Caoimhe, Sadhbh, Alanna, Donnacha, Cian, Eve, Bébhinn, Mags, Uncle Sean and all the Gormans please accept my deepest sympathies.

1992 turned out to be one of my happiest. Looking back, the lifelong friendships forged with Pat & Chris were an incredibly important and positive influence on me. Closer, more loyal friends you couldn’t ask for. It was easy being around Pat, he was quick witted, funny, friendly and the conversation always flowed… he wasn’t a bad singer either ! …but he could cut you in half if you got above your station and that’s just one of the things I loved about him.

Thank you all for allowing Chris and myself be such a large part of his send off, it will in time, I’m sure, become a great source of comfort to us both.

As the old saying goes, if you can count the true friends you have on 1 hand, you are lucky, on the 7 Feb after 32 years I lost a finger. We will do our utmost to continue our regular trips and meet ups and to fulfil the plans we had set in motion, but one thing is for sure, Pat will always travel with us in our hearts and minds.

Until me meet again, dearest friend.

I was so sorry to read today of Pat's death. He was a ray of light any morning he was behind the wheel. An absolute gentleman & always so pleasant with a kind word. Even when I saw him one evening on the 115, he gave me a big wave. To his heartbroken family & colleagues in Bus Eireann, please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Sincere condolences to Pat’s extended family, friends and colleagues. He will be greatly missed. As a commuter on the 120 bus route it was always a pleasure to see Pat drive. He was so friendly and helpful to everyone and many times I observed his kindness to elderly people ensuring they were not rushed getting on or off the bus. He was a remarkably nice person. May he Rest In Peace.

— Elizabeth and Eamonn Farrell, Celbridge
A huge light has gone out in the world. Gone long before your time. You will be sadly missed by everybody. It was an absolute privilege to know and work with you for the past 6 years. Nobody can match your energy, kindness, humour and wit. All amazing traits of yours amongst many more. I’ll forever wonder how you had the talent of being able to talk to anybody and everybody. It’s going to be difficult knowing I won’t bump into you in Busáras or in Broadstone anymore.

If you were ever having a bad day in work it would be completely the opposite within seconds of bumping into him. Always a laugh, a joke and a bit of gossip about something. A confidante and dear friend outside of work. I’ll miss all the conversations about work, music, family and anything transport related to name a few. All treasured memories that will last a lifetime.

My deepest and sincerest condolences to Mary, Tommy, Joey, all of his nieces and nephews, all of the extended family and his many many friends. May you rest in peace Pat 🙏🕊️

"Let us die young or let
let us live forever
We don't have the power but we never say never"..words of the chorus of a song played hudreds of times by Pat, Mark and I on our travels..Forever Young...as Tommy said at the graveside, this is how we will always remember him.. We lost our brother, not by birth, but friendship this week and the hole that leaves is indescribable.

We had known each other nearly 32 years, from September 1992 when we 3 started our studies in Transport Engineering in Bolton Street..an unbreakable bond formed, and many trips to Corcloon, where we were welcomed by all the Gorman family, became a pilgrimage for us as often as we could manage. We ventured further afield in later years: London, Frankfurt,(6 times!) Budapest and most recently Lisbon, with his Uncle Sean and cousins Mags and John..

House mover, groomsman, honorary uncle to my kids, advisor, motoring correspondent, confidante, fellow bus nerd, gig companion, dolly parton fan.The list is endless...but most important.: Friend. The most generous, kind, giving and loved friend.

Pat Gorman was like a brother to myself and Mark..it was my pleasure to have had the honour to know him and had him as such a close friend.
He has left us too soon, and we will never forget him.

I was humbled to take part in his send off, and offer sincere condolences and grateful thanks to Joey,Mary, Tommy, Ger and Sandra on his passing.
May he rest in peace
To use one of his own phrases.
'Thanks Ever So Much'...❤️
— Chris Quinlan

As broken as Mary, Tommy and Joey and Pat's lovely extended family mustt feel, you managed to give Pat a send off worthy of the absolute beautiful person he was. My deepest condolences to you all on a loss that is immeasurable. It was an honour to know him and his kindness and the world is a sadder place without him. Chris and I will remember him forever. ❤️
