Pat Gunn

My sincerest sympathy to all the Gunn family. I worked with Pat in Charlesfort in 2000/2001. He was a thorough gentleman and a wonderful colleague.

Eoin, my deepest condolence to you and all your family on the death of your beloved father Pat. As a former colleague I remember you speaking of Pat with great love and pride. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time

'Your cause of sorrow must not be measured by his worth,
For then it hath no end'

So sorry to Carmel, Eoin, Orla, Jennifer, Ruairi, Fergal and Avril for your enormous loss. Pat was a great neighbour to all. My enduring memory of Pat was the time he was so kind and calm when our cat was involved in an accident. I was distraught and without hesitation, Pat drove me down to the vet. The cat recovered. Pat's kindness and measured calmness will never be forgotten. The Gunns are an amazing family and with Pat and Carmel at the helm, it is no surprise. Rest peacefully Pat after a life well and truly lived.

As Guide Information Officer with the Office of Public Works, Pat was a much valued member of our Team. A historian in his own right, there was, with exception, nothing he did not know about almost every period of history. Such was the depth of his knowledge and intellect.
He will not be forgotten.
