I only learned this evening from a neighbour that your beloved Dad Pat has passed away unexpectedly. Words cannot express how shocked and very deeply saddened I am to hear that.
My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to all of you at this very sad time.
I only spoke with your Dad a few weeks ago. He was in wonderful form and his usual great humoured self.
I am so sorry and sad that I missed his funeral and give my personal support to you. The same thing happened with your Mam. I didn't know that she had passed until Pat himself called to tell me a few weeks later.
He frequently walked with Tiny his lovely little dog around Broadway. If I was out gardening he would stop and chat. If I was not, he would knock and update me with all the neighbourhood news. He always gave me great advice on gardening so much so that my skills have greatly improved. But, the main topic of his conversations always centered around Marie. He couldn't say enough about her. When she passed away a part of him died too. He carried a locket in which there was a lovely photo of them both. His heart was broken.
I do believe that you will find solace in the fact that he is now reunited with her in Heaven.
He was a true gentleman, devoted to his wife and family.
His was a life well lived. He will be very sadly missed.
It was a privilege to have been his friend
