Deepest sympathies to Pat’s partner, friends and family. He’ll be missed in Clontarf-thank you Pat for making us smile!
Pat "Some were so expert at been socially distant that they now can stand two metres from themselves. "
"Regarding those who can make themselves invisible we may never be able to see them again."

Pat could uniquely show the absurdity in life through his poems and could make you laugh about it.
A genuine and original talent.

R.I.P Pat Ingoldsby
Sympathy To Vivienne. And Ingoldsby Family. On The Very Sad Passing Of Pat. May Pat's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace 🙏.
Our sincere sympathy to Vivienne, the Ingoldsby family and Pat's friends, thinking of ye at this sad time, may Pat rest in peace. I had the pleasure of meeting Pat in Dublin over the years, he was more than a child hood memory and I bought my daughter his children's book Zany Tales, everyone should read it.
In typical Pat fashion -
I remember during one of the general elections when those ugly posters of politicians promising us everything were taking over the landscape. Myself and Pat were having a quick chat on Vernon Avenue and he looked at me and I looked at him and he said 'I'm voting for the RAMPS!' Well, it was the only poster with no ugly photo on it........

On the day of the election I was wishing 'RAMPS' was on the ballot paper but alas it was not.

Rest in peace Pat. You were one of a kind. Thank You for wonderful Dublin memories of you on Howth Pier and in Clontarf. I'm saddened to hear of your passing and sending your family and friends condolences.
RIP Pat - what an amazing Poet and a Gent to boot. I once met him at a radio event I was at in UCD in '88. Pat saw I was playing harmonica so he told me of his friendship with Don Baker, who he was going to see later that day. He promised to get Don to sign his 'How to play harmonica' book for me and said he'd leave it at RTE reception for me to collect the next day. To my great surprise, there it was, a big brown envelope waiting for me at reception! How sound is that!! he obviously said what he meant and meant what he said. Off with ya to write more great verses in the sky
Sincere condolences to Michael & the Ingoldsby family on the sad passing of Pat. May he rest in peace.
Basil the Boot-Boy Budgie,
Was browned off in his cage,
So he put on the denims,
Got his Budgie-Bovver-Boots,
And went out on the rampage.

Goodnight and God bless Pat you were a genius

RIP Pat, Met You In Skerries Some Years Ago, Very Friendly Guy, Very Much Missed.
So sorry to hear of Pats passing. I knew him from the early 90's when he sold his books on the east pier in Howth. It was quieter back then, and all the irelands eye passengers which would come off my boat, would go to Pat for a book and a chat.
We'd chat ourselves early in the day as he was setting up. Those chats are very close to my heart and will remain forever.
Farewell Pat, rest in peace.
Loved your poetry and your wit.
We loved to have a chat with you when we bumped into you when you were selling your books,
Always smiling and good humoured
May you rest in peace
Rip Pat. Thanks for the memories.
Sitting in our communal garden on those sunny Sunday afternoons when Pat used to recite his poems will always be cherished memories. Greatest neighbour ever and a true mate. Miss you already buddy. RIP Pat.
Pat, the memories live on and your laughter, kindness, talent and keen eye on life live on through them. Sleep well and peacefully.
Pat was the most wonderful man and full of divilment. My father, also full of divilment, saw Pat at a bus stop and rolls down the car window "Pat's chat, do ye want a lift" says he. I, as an awkward teenager, hid under the passenger seat, as they say, SCARLET! In hops the bauld Pat like we knew him all our lives, entertaining us all the way with his riddles and jokes, as my younger sisters kicked me under the seat. Pat always had that lovely Dublin divilment, a magnet for bored children whom he entertained on tv for so many years with his antics and tall tales. He formed our childhoods, kept us curious and asking questions. Pat I hope you have arrived in a new place of wonder to explore and ask questions. Rest in peace and thank so very much Pat on behalf of the chislers of the 80's.
My sympathies to all Pat's family and friends. I first knew of him from his whacky pieces in the Evening Press and then through his poetry books. Particular condolences to Vivienne who created the face book page and brought Pat's work back into the public domain via social media. I have so enjoyed both your contributions there. Rest in peace Pat.

Pat, you will be sorely missed. Living beside you for over a decade brought nothing but jokes, riddles and poems. You always sat with your bean bag under the tree writing away and sharing the odd poem or two. My daughter heading off to school would swing on your gate and never be short a smile after the riddle, tale or joke you would tell her. You made our time there very special. Rest in Peace, Pat.
Mary and Ciara
So sad to hear of pat’s passing
He’d come into the Gem in Howth to have a sandwich made before heading do to the east pier to sell his books
One morning he picked up a packet of smarties on the box it said Smarties have the answers
Pat said I’m going to tell Anthony Clair that
RIP Pat
Sincere condolences to all Pats family, friends and fans,he is sadly missed, a poet of the people XX
Pat had me speechless when he looked out of the telly and said” I love your new carpet!” He made me a believer in everyday magic. Spindle spider, big tellyphones, being good to people. Actually talking to them. Really listening and having a laugh. I was lucky as a teacher to have Pat visit with two of my writers’ groups in schools and have a profound impact on those young minds as well. As long as I never have his poems on an exam, then Pat won’t be cross with me.
Le grá as an gnáth don ghnáthrud. Go raibh míle maith agat a Phádraig. Slip in the back door if there’s a queue at the pearly gates and put the kettle on! God will enjoy the craic!
Shane Egan, Dunboyne,Galway,Drogheda and chats on Abbey Street.
It was a pleasure to have known you x
It would be a poor inhospitable world without people like Pat. RIP

Passed the time of day with you many a time, but so glad to have made your acquaintance properly Pat, when I confused your address with another! You called me straight into your home and what a chat we had. What a delight you were and how we laughed. Again thank you for your hospitality that day and for happy memories.
Rest in peace.
Condolences to all who loved you.
I remember Pat as a neighbour on St .Margarets Road.I treasure the picture he used of me as a young child on his T.V show. Rest in Peace Pat.
Goodnight Pa sleep well. I don't have to believe you're gone if I don't want to...sure haven't I got all your books?
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam
I remember Pat presented a radio show on RTE Radio 1, we talked about music on the train from Malahide into town one day, and I said I loved The Move's new single Brontosaurus. He asked me to write in a request so he could play it on his show.
His presence is all over the city. Shine on Pat.x
