Elizabeth I have been away and tonight on my return have the message from home that your beloved Pat has passed away. My heart is with you and each of the family in your great loss. I will be in touch when we are home. It seems so short a time. Eilis
A very ,very special note to Liz. Speaking for myself and my entire family, we share your grief with the loss of Pat. We feel a great loss of an outstanding gentleman, and a dear friend. I personally spent well over 30 years tracing our McCarthy family roots to Ireland. Once my family and I determined that the location was somewhere in the Dunmanway area, it was Pat that immediately came to our aide in closing our search. With Pat leading the Dunmanway Historical Society and those at St. Patrick’s Church, we were able locate and confirm that Inch, Dunmanway, County Cork, Ireland was the original home of our ancestors. We will never forget Pat’s personal involvement, and will remember Pat and his famous Pat McCarthy’s Bar in downtown Dunmanway. I am not sure when, but you can rest assured that I will return to Dunmanway to pay my respects to you and family.
Our thoughts are with you Liz and family may Pat rest in peace
Deepest condolences to the McCarthy family. We had to honor of meeting Pat in the summer of 2012. He was gracious enough to spend time with our family to assist with locating our family ancestors. He was a kind and gentle soul who will be greatly missed not only by those in Dunmanway, but across the pond in America. Rest in Peace Pat.
Sincere condolences on you loss
