We were so sorry to hear of Pat’s death. We knew him as “Uncle Pat” in our house because David looked forward to Pat's visits to Dublin with Philip where they would meet up with Niall, Orla and Colm for a few pints. David was always invited to join them and found Pat to be very kind and generous. Our heartfelt condolences to Kay, Philip & Miriam, Pauline and Anne on the sad loss of your dear son and brother, and to Niall, Orla and Colm on the loss of a much loved uncle. May he rest in eternal peace.

I remember well sitting the Leaving Cert with him in St Paul's in 1978. Pat was an avid Man Utd fan, and went over to some of their matches in Old Trafford. Pat was also a Handy GAA Footballer, and served Monasterevin for many a year. He was also a gifted student and seemed to conquer his schoolwork without much effort.
