Sincere condolence to Pa’s partner and to all his family and friends. I haven’t met Pa since school, but my memory of him remains strong.
He was a man among boys… the size of him, with a personality and outgoing nature that was larger than life.
Great craic, would always raise a laugh in class or around the yard. Behind it all he was sound, sensitive and would try help his friends to a fault.

Rest in peace Pa.

I’m very sorry to hear about Patrick’s passing. Even though we hadn’t been in touch much in recent years, I’ll never forget the times we spent together in Limerick and Galway — carefree, full of laughter, and simpler times. It’s hard to believe he’s gone.

So sad to hear of passing of my cousin Patrick, you lived life to the full and left us too soon. It seems a lifetime ago now we were listening to one of your 90s techno tapes or entertaining ourselves with the rest of the cousins at family gatherings, never a dull moment.

Our thoughts are with Pat, Kathleen, Grace and Ian, from Stephen, Paula, Matthew and Lorcan down in New Zealand.

Pat will always be fondly remembered from all of his POD Dublin colleagues and friends. Sound as a pound and many crazy nights together.

We were heartbroken to hear of the devastating loss of your beautiful son Pat.There are just no words to offer as comfort at this awful time but to know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to Pat, Kathleen, Grace and Ian. I’ll never forget being kids on holiday in Galway at the caravan park with Patrick —listening to DJ mix tapes and playing the arcade machines. Gone too soon, may he rest in peace.

I spent some of the happiest days of my youth in boats up and down the Shannon with Pat O’Shaughnessy. He was at times a larger than life character and could make you laugh with one of his quips but was also a serious competitor and committed crewmate when it counted.
He was a lovely fella. It doesn’t look like he changed much over the years.
He will always be talked about fondly and forever remembered by us in St Michael’s Rowing Club.
