Pat (Paddy) Coughlan

My Uncle Paddy was one of my favorite Uncles. He always welcomed me on my many visits where I often stayed with him. He was a man of few words but was wise and clever. He had a way with animals and a connection to the land. He will be missed by many including my children. I wish I could have been there on the Solstice.

My Uncle Paddy was a quiet, gentle and wise man. I admired him greatly. I learned a lot from him, such as his great love for animals, his quiet calm demeanor, his commitment to his neighbors and community and his steadfast mindful beliefs. I will miss him dearly. Though I am from a family of 15 with five brothers and nine sisters of my own, Pat and Terry, Anne and Mary are dear family to me and my husband, their brother Michael J. Coughlan (rip). My son, Michael and I visited with Pat in April 2022. He twice made the long journey to our home near Notre Dame University in South Bend. My three sons and families have fondest memories of him and his visits here and in Ireland.
I will miss him terribly, but rejoice on the image I have of his joyous welcome by Father Terry and Michael in Heaven. Merry Christmas, Pat! Best one ever!
