My sincere apologies for missing the funeral of Paddy, as we go back a long time in football starting with St. Martins Boys. To Ann and the family I extend my sincere regret at not being able to travel to Dublin to try console your heartbreak at the passing on of Paddy to his new life with God in Heaven. As in life, his words of comfort to many persons involved in football and life in general will be remembered fondly and will be an inspiration, as we all come to terms with his untimely passing.

Ann,
My sincerest condolences to you and your family on the huge loss of Paddy. You may not remember me but I played for St Martins with your brother Bobby and was managed by Paddy for a few seasons. He even togged out on several occasions when we were short. ! Dublin amateur soccer owes Paddy a huge debt for his unbelievable commitment and dedication to its development. I always held him in the highest regard, a very straight, honest and principled man. May he rest in peace.
PS I am so sorry that I can't attend the funeral as I am hospitalised at present.
