After a few discussions in detail with Paddy about the sea, waves, moon and tides I knew I was out of my depth and one day decided to impress him so I floated a Latin quotation, turned out he was well versed here also after 5 years study in school! We had many arguments and battles over Latin and that then moved onto history, music films etc etc. Paddy had a great general knowledge and liked a quiz or maybe even just a challenge! Over the years we discussed our families and farming background and days in the summer hayfield and bog! He told me about his first job making windows in Achill!

I worked alongside Paddy for over 20 years and he became a great friend that I admired and now miss dearly!

Jane David Ailbhe, he always spoke of you and when he did he was so proud and happy!
