Condolences to the Quigley family. Pat & Ellie were a lovely couple and great company. Terrific dancers too. More socialable, kinder people one couldn't meet. During my time as a medical rep in the West, I admired them both for the humour, warmth and fun they brought to every social outing. They made such an impression, even after 35 year. I'm glad they are together and free of illness and suffering. But I'm sad for the family who must deeply miss such kind, gentle and caring souls.

It is a huge shock coming so soon after the death of his beloved Eleanor ( the Queen as he often affectionately referred to her) I met them both first over 30 years ago travelling to the away Irish soccer matches and they both were a pleasure to know! I also interacted with Pat professionally in his capacity as a medical rep & he always ensured you got the, best service! He always got the red carpet treatment and bypassed the waiting room straight into the kitchen for coffee and cake! His smile was infectious. His personality larger than life.

I only knew Pat through my days in the FAI where he frequented us at the ticket office, at that time, based in the basement of 80 Merrion Square. I have fond memories of working as a tutor at Milebush Park, Castlebar, on the Sports & Recreation course, a collaboration between the FAI and Mayo Sligo Leitrim ETB, over a number of years. My interactions with Pat were always pleasant, he was a gentleman and always interested in the development of the young FAI players. You can be really proud of his contribution to soccer development in Co Mayo. The development of the facility that is Milebush Park was also something that Pat took great pride in and his efforts to bring this to fruition were commendable.

I am sadden to hear of pats sad passing ,he always had time for a chat when he visited as a league of ireland observer to finn park lovely friendly man who will be sadely missed by the soccer family ,rest in peace pat 💙
