Deepest sympathies to the Walsh family on the sad passing of Pat. May he rest in peace.
— Alan Dillon
I was very sorry to recently hear of Pat’s passing and indeed of that of his beloved wife Treasa. Their dedication and support to Connacht angling and indeed the wider angling community throughout Ireland was unparalleled. The bed of heaven to them both. My condolences to all the family and extended families. Rest in peace Treasa and Pat and thank you both for everything you did.
— Conor Mountaine
So sad to hear of Pat’s passing. He and Treasa were very kind to me and my family over many years. He was also an esteemed work colleague. We spent a memorable weekend with them in Achill many moons ago and our (now adult) daughters still have fond memories of playing on the beach with Pat’s dog, Bailey. Pat and Treasa were a highly unusual couple and the world is the poorer for their absence. I will miss Pat’s distinctive voice over the telephone line, bringing the atmosphere of Ireland’s heartland into my ear. We will not see his like again.

It was with great sadness to learn of the passing of Pat Walsh and so soon after his beloved wife Treasa, We offer sincere and deepest sympathy to the family, Geralyn, Mary, Martina,, Peter and Treasa og and to the extended Walsh and Gallagher families time at this sad time for you all.
Having Met Pat at Treasa’s wake in the house and more recently at Sunday Mass in Currane church, I remarked that Pat looked well and was still as recognisable and welcoming as he was from the First time I met him in the George Many years ago before he and Treasa married.
Remembering Pat as a very committed secretary and President of the Sea Anglers and under pressure for the new seasons he ensured to get the essential membership cards out on time. I recall bringing batches of them for Pat back to the Midland Branch secretaries on my return visits from Currane to Athlone over the years; such was Pat’s commitment to the Club members. It is with regret that I didn’t make it to Currane on this occasion but will visit on my next visit.
May Pat rest in Peace
