I was honoured to be part of Patrice’s team in the Oireachtas and to count her as a friend. She was such a special person who lit up the room with her charm, warmth, and wisdom. A unique soul who was the epitome of cool, full of craic, as well as patient and kind, with the most infectious laugh that made you instantly smile. She brought so much to this world and it’s hard to fathom why she has been taken. We miss our Galway girl every day and cherish the time we had with her. She is loved and remembered always. We only knew Patrice and Cillian from our brief encounters in the Phoenix Park, exchanging greetings from a few metres apart as our dogs cautiously observed one another. And even so, it was evident that they were a warm, friendly, and engaging couple, full of life and living lives that were full. Later, we discovered our shared connection through Mary.

Hearing of Patrice's passing came as a profound shock. Life can be so unbearably unfair at times. Our hearts go out to everyone she touched, and we hope she now rests in peace.
