When paying tribute to Patricia, it's hard to decide where to start. I got to know her shortly after I started in the Comununity School. Her late brother Martin was in my year. We were scarcely settled in school when they lost their Dad, Andrew, which undoubtedly brought great stress to the family. It is to the credit of their Mum, and to Patricia as the eldest that they all came through unscathed. She was secretary of Ballydaly Macra for two years in the early 80's, where she established her reputation for being both efficient and helpful in everything she did. Public Speaking in both Irish and English, Debating, cookery, floral arranging, Patricia was always up for the challenge. In her work life in Drishane, Patricia was highly thought of and respected. When her health began to fail some years ago, it didn't deter her. Always thinking of others, through her coffee mornings and general care and concern, when it would have been so easy to retreat into a world of self pity. Patricia was one of a kind.
Her life albeit cut short, and the way she lived it is an example for all of us. While it is never easy, and sad, to part, it was also a privilege to have known her and had her as a friend. Rest easy Patricia, even if the Patricia I knew will already be busy in her new home organising and helping all the gang up there. Deepest sympathy to all her family.

My sincere condolences to Patricia’s family on your loss. I was so sad to hear of Patricia’s passing. I got to know Patricia when I started working in Coleman’s and I was always greeted with a beautiful smile. She loved a chat and always made sure to ask about everyone and loved to hear all the news. She bore her illness with great dignity and never once complained. She gave her time to others without hesitation and I have no doubt she will rest peacefully now in Heaven. RIP Patricia.
