Sincerest sympathy on the loss of Pat. My mother, Phyllis Roberts Syer, was dear friends with her and Fred early in their days at Malahide Castle and for a lifetime following. She always had a smile, a kind word, and a twinkle in her eye. Such a lovely person. May God comfort you as only He can.

I was sorry not to be able to attend the funeral yesterday, like so many I would have liked to pay my respects to Patricia and support her loved ones. I remember the excitement of coming to Malahide in the bus every summer when aunt Bella was over from Scotland to have a lovely tea.
I remember aunt Pat and Kathleen up to their elbows in flour while baking beautiful bread and scones and uncle Fred coming home from milking the jersey cows with a billycan of beautiful creamy milk.
Playing in the field opposite the cottage until the sun went down and the midges started to bite!!

Our Mam Eileen (Mills) and her family, grew up and lived on the grounds of Malahide Castle Demesne, so she knew your mother and father very well, and spoke very fondly of them. We, as children, have lovely memories of the yearly Christmas parties in Malahide Castle and collecting the daily “quart” of jersey milk from your dad Fred, who worked in the dairy in the castle. Pat was a lovely warm , cheerful optimistic lady with a cheery smile for everyone. A very good friend of my mother Lucy. I can still see her sitting at Mum's kitchen enjoying tea, cake and a chat. You will all miss her so much, she was lovely to the end.
