A wonderful role model for me growing up. I have many fond childhood memories of lots of fun and laughter with Pat back in the day. Taken way too soon. May she rest in peace.

It was always such a pleasure to meet and spend time with Pat.
I will always remember her basketball lessons at our house in Waterford or the long summer days of our extended families, together in Birdtown.

Finn it was a great shock to hear of Pat's death. I remember her with great affection and all the occasions we as a group would meet with regularity in each others homes. Sincere condolences to the Ahern family on the loss of Pat. I knew Pat when I worked in Presentation Primary George's Hill. She was a lovely lady, had a wonderful way with children and was loved by staff and students. Leaba i measc na naoimh go raibh aici.

It was such a shock to hear of Pat's sudden death. She was always one of my favourite people, wonderful personality and great fun to be with. She was also brutally honest, a trait I really appreciate but see less and less of every day. Yes, we lost touch over the past few years but every time Pat's name came up in conversation, it brought a smile to my face. Finn has lost a wife and partner, Suzanne and Gavin have lost a mother but all of us who knew Pat have also lost someone very special.

To Finn, Suzanne and Gavin, I share your loss and am thinking of you all.

The contribution that Pat made to the sporting and other areas of life in St Dominic’s College was immense as were the warm strong friendships she built with others. Although I only had her in first and second year, I'm in sixth year now and still think of her everytime I play basketball. She was so encouraging and you could tell she truly cared about our team. I am so heartbroken to hear the news about Ms Ahern’s passing. She coached me in basketball throughout my time in Dominic’s and inspired me to keep going even today years after I have graduated. She was a pillar in the community and always had time for people. She will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Ms Ahern - my basketball coach for six wonderful years in st Dominic’s college. A truly wonderful person both inside and out and she had such a positive impact on everyone who was lucky enough to have known her. I’m truly grateful for everything she did for me and for igniting my love of basketball which I will carry forever. Condolences to all her family, may she rest in peace.
