Dear Jane,

Our sincere condolences on the passing of your mum. Your mum is such an immeasurable loss to you and your family. As a former HCK girl, I can attest to how much of a treasure your mum was in every respect. She dealt with all of her students with such dignity, respect and compassion, all the time cognisant and empathetic of our adolescence! I especially remember our exchange trip to Munich for almost a month with Frau!

We always left Frau’s class feeling better than when we went in. I suspect she touched everyone she met, in any capacity, in that way.

We were so very privileged to have had your mum as our teacher. I believe that even though she is not physically present, part of her will never leave because she is part of you, your children and wider family because she is part of you.

I remember Frau so well and was really sorry to hear of her passing. I remember her minding us all like our second mum on our 4th year exchange trip to Germany. I remember her helping me out of some tricky situations and making everything feel ok. We had great fun learning German with her in school and we still rememeber the long rhymes she'd teach us to help us learn our German - they still get a sing song on our rare HCK get together nights out!

I hope my kids are lucky enough to have such a wonderful supportive teacher and friend in school.
I have such fond memories of a warm, kind and caring teacher during my time in HCK. Frau minded us all so well during a 3 week German trip to Neutraubling in 2001.

Condolences to the family on your sad loss.

Rest In Peace Frau x
Dear Jane and Family

Devastated to hear the about the passing of Ms O' Leary. I had the pleasure of knowing her from my years in Holy Child. She was without doubt the kindest and warmest teacher I have ever come across. We were so lucky to have her in the school. She really was a huge part of what made it so special. I can't imagine the loss she is to your families. I will cherish all the wonderful memories.

Thinking of you all

I have very fond memories of ‘Auntie Pat’ from my childhood, including your warm and welcoming home in Dalkey - with the amazing playroom. She was so good to me when we moved to Dublin, including appearing in my classroom with a massive cake for my 18th birthday. Sending thoughts and strength for the days ahead.

Dearest Conor, Kate, Jane and Stephen,

Our Most Sincere and Heartfelt Condolences on the Extremely Sad Loss of your Darling Mother, Pat, affectionately known to her beloved Students as 'Frau' O'Leary.
An Extraorardinary Lady who's Love and Dedication to her Beautiful Family, Friends and Students was ever palpable.
She knew how to reach out to everyone in such a calm and friendly manner, engaging her students in such a way that 'Language and Culture' were explored easily within the four walls of her classroom.
We had the honour of 'Frau' teaching our two Girls in HCK, which has given them wonderful memories. They were the Happiest Times.
I credit your Mum with the fact that both of them have embraced Travel and Language throughout the world.

Take good care, and know that whilst your hearts are broken, your Dear Mum and Dad will Always be With You.

My deepest condolences to Frau's beloved family and friends. Frau was a superb teacher and inspired countless students, myself included. As my French teacher, she was not only brilliant but also incredibly compassionate and dedicated. During a challenging time in my life, after suffering a brain injury, learning French for the aural exams seemed almost impossible. Frau's unwavering support and selflessness made all the difference. She stayed behind every week to give me one-on-one lessons after school, showing immense patience and understanding. Her efforts were instrumental in my recovery. Her kindness, dedication, and passion for teaching have left a lasting impact on my life. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire.
Conor, Kate,Jane, Stephen, Jimmy, Nuala& extended family,my sincere sympathy to you all, Pat actually taught me many moons ago in cork, she was a lovely person, I’m sure you will all miss her but have many happy memories . RIP Pat.
Sincere sympathy and thoughts are with Conor and family - from all the staff at Johnstown Pharmacy.
My deepest condolences to Frau's beloved family and friends. She was an extraordinary person who loved deeply and made the world a better place for it. I was so lucky to travel to Lourdes on many occasions with "Auntie Pat". She adored her travels there and was always so generous to the school girls, past & present, keeping an eye out for them all. I credit Frau with instilling a love of the French language & France in me - a gift that keeps giving! Her impact extended well beyond a mere leaving cert exam and lives on forever in my heart. Merci beaucoup Auntie Pat for your "joie de vivre", for making all our lessons so memorable and for making our lives richer. Repose en paix xxx

Frau O Leary was such a wonderful teacher but that was only a small part of her impact in School. She was a huge part of the heart and soul of HCK.She brought great energy and joy to the classroom. she poured so much encouragement, care and support into her students. I loved to sing but was so nervous. She really helped build my confidence around singing in front of groups. Several times I ended up singing songs for her during German class. She so loved it when I sang Time to say Goodbye at my 2009 leavers mass. I also have fond memories of chatting to her while helping her arrange flowers for events at the school. We had so many great chats. I remember her so fondly and feel so lucky and grateful to have had such a special teacher. RIP Frau and my condolences to all her family and friends.
