My memories of Patricia relate to our childhood together when I spent holidays in Cregmore. We played all day around the old house, in the wood, or over at Johnnies. In the evening we would cycle to Egans for ice cream. We were always short a bicycle so someone would have to carry me. That was a cause of argument but also great fun as I got to go on a crossbar sometimes. Then there were the parties when the yanks came home or the stations were on. We had great freedom to roam and play. I remember those holidays and events with intense affection. Patricia was central to them for me. She always looked after me even though we were about the same age. In later years when we met at funerals mostly, I felt that old connection with her return. I am saddened to hear she is gone.
