I worked with Pat in the international environment, initially when I was with the European Radiocommunications Office in Copenhagen and subsequently when I was employed at ComReg in Dublin. Pat was a really nice guy to work with and always happy to share his knowledge and experience. He was one of the world's nice guys.
May he rest in peace.

Condolences and sincere sympathy to Elke , children and extended family
of Pat Carey in their extreme bereavement. Pat and myself enjoyed a
Philatelic friendship which commenced away back in early 1970s, and we
have experienced many enjoyable and memorable moments during that time. I trust that God will give you the strength and courage to bear your
loss in this sad time for you all.

Since condolences to the Carey Family on the passing of Pat. I had the pleasure of working with Pat before he retired in 2000. We had many a laughs along the way. Great memories.
Sorry to hear of the death of Pat, a former colleague. My sympathies to Malachy, Ilona, Kirsten and the extended family. Pat was "mr international" to me when I joined as a "young engineer". A few year's later he was chairing the CEPT ERC and ERO Council. This certainly eased the path for Irish colleagues involvement in the work of CEPT and European radio spectrum activities, which has been a significant part of my career for nearly 30 years.
Elke, Malachy, Ilona, Kirstin and family
Sorry I can't attend the service tomorrow. Thinking of you all at this difficult time. Uncle Pat will be missed, I always enjoyed conversations with him particularly reminiscing with my Dad about their youth and the characters in their lives!
One of my earliest memories, that I can recall as clear as day, is standing next to Pat looking down at my brothers and cousins playing at the pool when on holiday in Spain in the early 80s. I write this now from Spain and that memory is very poignant.
With our deepest condolences
Paul jnr, Sinead, Ava, Chloe and Jacob

On behalf of the CEPT Electronic Communications Committee and the European Communications Office we are deeply saddened to hear of Pat’s passing. He was a remarkable colleague—kind, dedicated, and always willing to share his wisdom and experience.
Pat’s work within CEPT and the broader global telecommunications community was truly significant. As Chair of the European Radiocommunications Committee (ERC) and the ERO Council, he played a pivotal role in shaping European spectrum policy, fostering consensus among diverse stakeholders, and strengthening Europe’s voice in international radiocommunications. His leadership, integrity, and strategic vision earned him deep respect across the sector.
This year, as the ECC celebrates its 35th anniversary, we are especially mindful of the solid foundation Pat helped lay for its continued success. His efforts and foresight contributed enormously to the ECC’s enduring relevance and impact, and his legacy will remain a cornerstone of its achievements.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Pat was a wonderful person whose warmth, generosity, and sense of humour touched so many. He will be greatly missed, but his contributions and spirit will live on in the work of all those he inspired.
Our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
With deepest sympathy,
