I sadly missed not been able to be with you all over this very sad time with the passing of Pat, but as you will understand, Corona saw to that. I first met Pat in Sligo IT when he my Head of Department. He was a gentleman and we had many pleasant nights as paddy played his “banjo”. Later, when I moved to UL, Pat joined there as Deputy Registrar and until we retired, we worked closely together. I had the opportunity of travelling with him abroad and these were experiences that we both valued and enjoyed. His love of “Cork” hurling was intense. Ann you gave everything to Pat over his last years. May he rest in Peace.

Deepest sympathies on the passing of Pat. XXX
To Anne, Kieran, Triona & Ailbhe,

I just want to pass on my sympathies on the passing of our beloved Uncle Pat. Pat and myself bonded over our mutual love of Granny and Cork hurling and he was not only an uncle but a great friend and will always have a special place in my heart. He had a tough few years but we have so many memories to cherish that we will never forget. Himself and Granny May were always inseparable and they are both smiling down on us now. His memory will live on with us. I also want to remember my own mom, dad, uncle Eamonn, auntie Nuala and Carmel who all loved him so much.

Up the rebels!

Paul, Caitlin and Cian Patrick.

Dear Anne, Kieran, Ailbhe & Triona,

My sincere condolences on the passing of Uncle Pat. He put in some fight over the last 2.5 years which was thanks to the total dedication of you all and the extended family. I can safely say every time I met Pat he always had a glowing smile and one of the best conversationalists I’ve ever met. He could speak about anything and would keep you entertained for hours on end. His ability to link dates with events was mesmerising. Whenever I needed advice about school, college and exams he was only a phone call away and he would ring every time before and after a set of exams, something I’ll never forget! I remember he brought me to the Munster final when I was 12 in Thurles, a full house, but Pat was kind enough to give me a spare ticket, even though no doubt there were plenty more queuing up for one from him. Myself and Uncle Pat would always have had a close relationship and will always be a legend in the O’Callaghan House. No doubt he’s looking down on us with the glowing smile having a slice of Apple Pie with Granny Cashell.

Deepest condolences to Anne, Kieran, Ailbhe, Triona and to my Mom, Mercy, Uncle Eamonn and aunts Nuala and Carmel.
