My sincere condolences to Paddy’s family on his sad passing. He will be sadly missed. He was a dear friend for many years. May he Rest In Peace.
My condolences to the Cosgrave family on the loss of their beloved Paddy.
Paddy Cosgrave was a very special person, and it was my privilege to have known him. He was a very kind man always there to help others down on their luck. I first met Paddy when he was a tutor in Kevin Street College and I was a young apprentice electrician there between 1965 and 1970. He was one of the greatest tutors in that college and I was so lucky to have been one of his students. He was good company had great humour with lots of fun and wit.
Later in 2001 he agreed to be my own personal tutor and mentor when I began a 3 month full time home study programme. As a result of Paddy’s vast knowledge and his guidance I achieved first class honours in all subjects studied thank you Paddy for that success.
Paddy, you are sadly missed as my great friend, may you rest in peace.

Condolences to the Cosgrave Family, I remember being taught by Paddy many years ago in Kevin St as an ESB apprentice. Then later chats when visiting Derek and Paddy over for dinner. Paddy was always involved. Had great influence in the Community centre when raising funds and doing the build. Paddy touched so many lives and will be remembered fondly by all.
My sympathies to Paddy's family for your loss especially Noel, Eoghan and Ciaran. I knew Paddy from the retired staff members gatherings in Kevin St and the conversations had there. Myself as a new lecturer and many other colleagues had the benefit of his scholarship with the apprenticeship books he produced for which I am ever grateful. These books were also used by many generations of students and are still in use to-day which is testament to Paddy. May he rest in peace

Paddy was a gentleman, a scholar and a great teacher His legacy is the enthusiasm for the subject of electricity that he fostered in his students, which includes myself
Paddy taught me as an apprentice electrician in Kevin Street in the late 1960s. Since then I have had the pleasure and honour of knowing Paddy as my lecturer and as a colleague. Paddy had a great love of people and his students were lucky to have such a kind lecturer teaching them.

My sincere sympathy to all of Paddy's family at this time. I only got to know Paddy about 8 years ago and over that period I would like to think of him as a dear friend. I eagerly looked forward to our weeky meetings over a cup of coffee. His breath and range of interests were a joy to behold and I never heard him utter a critical word about anybody, seeking only to find something nice to say. He was a deeply spiritual man, may he rest now in the peace of the just. I will miss him.
