Most sincere sympathies to the family of Father Culhane. We had a great relationship with him when he was in the Howth parish.
We knew him as Fr Paddy Culhane when he was curate in our Parish of the Assumption, Howth in the 1970s/80s. We thank God for his warmth, friendship and constant sunny good humour. He was a faithful priest for our Parish.

A very special man, with a great sense of humour.
Loved by so many.
Many years ago when he was in Howth, twice, I think.
He would bring herrings to my mother for her to make roll mops for him.
His love of alsatians, “ lark”
after Larkhill.
A very special man.
May he rest in peace.
Like so many others I have very fond memories of an inspiring priest from his time serving Drimnagh’s St John Bosco Youth Club in the mid 1960s and especially at Salesian Summer Camps in Pallaskenry.   All Bosco friends of that time were so fortunate in knowing such a pastoral priest.
Very saddened to hear of Fr. Culhane's passing. We have great memories of him...may God grant him eternal rest.
So sorry to hear of the death of Fr Culhane RIP. He was a wonderful parish priest and friend of the family. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a Anam.
Pat was such a lovely wonderful man and a fantastic caring priest. I’ll miss his lovely smile and always welcoming warmth whenever you’d meet him.
Sincere sympathy on the death of Fr. Pat. It’s certainly the end of an era in Chapelizod. My mother, Mary King, rip, enjoyed his ceremonies and particularly his wit on leaving at the end of Mass. my sympathy to all the Culhane family who were our old neighbors in Chapelizod and shared a strong Garda connection with our family.
Fr. Pat was a very good friend of the Daughters of Charity and supported our Mission in Kenya over many years. May he rest in peace
We remember Father Pat with much affection and warmth. Although on the other side of the world, we enjoyed regular phone conversations and letters. We especially treasure a photo of him with us in his front garden in Lucan Rd and his last letter to us a year ago, in which he gave his usual update of family events and recollections of history. He concluded by saying, ‘I am the most senior member of the tribe. You should apply for it from NZ!!! Sure the Taioseach is foreign.’
Requiescat in pace, Father Pat.
Jack and Denise Culhane.
I only knew Father Pat by way of his travels with my grandfather, John “Jack” Culhane. I understand that you were a man of great conviction, compassion, and generosity of spirit. May the way you lived your life serve to inspire us all. Best wishes and sincere condolences from afar to those you left behind. RIP.
Cousin, Friend I will miss you my thoughts are with you, you had a long and glorious life
I only met you once when I was a wee lass. You came to america to visit my father. I remember your collar, the way you smelled, and the peaceful nature you had. You taught me that no matter what happens in my life, to remain at peace, one must live through faith, humility, and charity. I will never forget you or this lesson.
may you rejoice in being released from the pain of this existence
may you take your rightful place among your ancestors who have gone before.
may you continue to be a source of strength for those left behind in this Valley of Tears
Amen
Will always cherish Fr. Pat and the memories he left me as PP in Chapelizod when I began my priestly life in Ballyfermot and his support in our neighbouring parish in Palmerstown when he retired and continued to minister there. His gentle attitude was a support to many. He will be greatly missed. Yes indeed, may he rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Fr. Patrick Culhane. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Fr. Pat, as he was always known to us, came into the lives of the Lynam, McSweeney, Gibbs and Drumm families over sixty years ago when he served as curate in Larkhill Parish, Whitehall. He became a good friend of my mam and dad , Bill and Maureen Lynam, and remained faithful to that friendship right through their lives. He visited regularly over the years and was part of many family celebrations. His sense of humour and interest in other people made him a very welcome guest. It was with sadness that we learned of his passing but know he has faithful friends who have welcomed him one more time and are enjoying his company yet again.
