RIP. Flash.
I wish to offer my deepest sympathy to the Powell and Wade Families on Flash's passing . Although I have not seen or spoken with him for many years he was a Family and personal friend for many years. Flash used to live in a small bungalow near us in the 70's and up to the late 80's where he worked as a laborer in Michael Twoey's cattle yard, in Ashtown. He was a master of all trades and would turn his hand to anything including Bar work, painting, decorating, gardening , building, cleaning, herding cattle or pigs, and labored on local farmland. He was a very hard and tireless worker . He was softly spoken, quiet, inoffensive and minded his own business. He used to enjoy a few pints in Giles Kelly's Pub ( Bar ) in Ashtown, ( the halfway house )where he socialised and was a well known and popular figure, especially with Martin Savage Park residents back in those Days. Flash also worked by times on our pitch and putt course back in the mid 80's and 90's and was a constant presence around the townland of Scribblestown. Please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of this gentle Soul . R.I.P Pat ('Flash' ) Mc Donagh .
