I am so sorry to hear the news of Pat's passing. I was in UL with Pat when we completed a Masters in Business Studies together. He was such great fun and many a great night out we had together. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Councillor Patrick Gerard Murphy.

I had the privilege of knowing Patrick since my early days working in disability services, where his commitment to inclusion and advocacy was evident in every interaction.

More recently, I knew him as a member of Cork County Council where his dedication to public service, his warmth, and his collaborative spirit left a lasting impression.

Patrick was a tireless champion for people with disabilities and the community he served and his legacy will live on through the many initiatives he supported and the lives he touched.

To his brother Noel and all of his family, his friends, and colleagues, I extend my heartfelt condolences. I was out of the country so unable to pass on my condolences in person.

It is with great sadness that we heard the news of Gerard's untimely passing. Our experience of him was as a tireless community advocate and an active supporter of development in his community of West Cork. He was a key contact for us.
