My condolences to Eve and the wider family of Col Paddy Ghent. I never served with him but knew him well from the Defence Forces Legal Service Club. He was held in high regard as an officer and a lawyer by all whom I have met who served with him.

Our deepest condolences to you Eve and to Paddy’s extended family. He was a great officer , a natural gentleman and a wonderful shipmate. He taught me so much about the sea and sailing and was so courteous to Dena when we first started meeting up in the RIYC. Ar dheis De go mbeidh a hanam dilis.

So sorry to hear of Paddy,s death. I can still remember the two of us getting of the bus at the Watertower with our suitcases on 5jan53 and heading up to the college. Over the years we went separate ways but came together for my last 5 years of service when he was a great advisor. I missed him greatly at our last class reunions. A true friend and gentleman.
