I was a student at Scoil Iosa from 2005-2011. Pat was an amazing gent.

I recall an experience I had with Pat & his multitude of keys for every door and cupboard in the school.

I asked him one day to open up an office as I was having a students meeting & having chatted to Pat on a multitude of occasions he trusted me for a short few minutes with his bunch of keys.

He passed me his keys and picked out the right one & said "if you lose this one key in the bunch and I'm not there, good luck finding it!".

He'll be sorely missed by everyone in Scoil Iosa that got to know him down through the years.

Pat was a wonderful character and extremely helpful. He was very knowledgeable and regularly stopped to tell me about some new scientific discovery. He had a unique view of the world, and he always left me laughing.

Hard to believe Pat won’t be around Malahide Community School again. In a very big school that is open day and night and during school holidays, facilitating all sorts of community activities, Pat was centrally involved in all the required preparations and in his own unique way resolved successfully all the attendant issues that arose. And this was over a period of 47 years or more. Godspeed Pat.

I have many fond memories of Pat both as colleague and student at Malahide Community school, I remember one day having to chase Pats hens out of the old junior block as the the commotion was prevent students getting to class, which provide the whole school community with great amusement.
