I met him on a few occasions but I particularly remember a boat trip back in the 70’s along with Vera. We went from Schull to Cape Clear! My memory of Pat is of an utter gentleman in showing great patience towards two non sailors!

I was truly saddened to learn of Pat’s passing. We started school together back in the dim and misty past in Turner’s Cross. We remained together til the parting of the ways at the end of secondary school. Pat was a serious student but possessed a wicked sense of fun. He represented Col Criost Ri in the All Ireland Debating final in 1963 and was a formidable and persuasive debater. But ,in essence, he will be most fondly remembered for his utterly charming personality. Truly, a gentleman.
