On behalf of the members of the Irish Red Grouse Conservation Trust, I wish to convey my deepest and sincerest condolences to P.J.'s family and friends. He was a Patron of our organisation that has worked very hard to preserve and conserve Ireland's oldest bird species, the Red Grouse, which dates back to the Ice age. P.J. did pioneering research work on red grouse back in the 1960's and 70's in the Glenamoy area and continued his good work until comparatively recently.
