I have fond memories of Patrick from a young age. The banter and the craic that was had on many trips he shared with my late father Patrick on the train to the Dublin for the All Ireland Finals and of course the pre match few pints in the Palace Bar.

It was with great sadness as the news of the passing of Pat King came to us on Saturday morning.
Pat was part of Kerry gaa over the decades travelling with the Kerry gaa supporters club all over the country their was no journey to long or to short when it came to supporting kerry teams. In Dublin we always dropped of pat in the
Quays to go to that land mark Bar the pallas where he sampled the top shelf.
Win, lose or draw pat would entertain us on the way home with some of his great songs we never felt a long journey home. He enjoyed the over night trips singing and beating the silver tray. Always got a big audience. Pat has left the Kingdom of kerry and gone to the Kingdom of God. We will rerember Pat for all the enjoyment he gave us over the years.
We extend our sympathy to all his family and friends. May the sod rest lightly on his gently soul.

We remember a man who was big in stature heart and laugh.
Those of us who had the pleasure to work with him on the pier were richier
in all aspects of our lives because of it. It was always a marvel to us how he could fit all those parts into those ships, a task that for many years now has been done
with the help of computers.
A man before his time.
Those of us that were lucky to spend a night out with Patrick recall his wit
songs and stories. To quote his own
words "lads this could make a great
night yet ".So safe final voyage our friend, may you rest in peace with Eileen and all your family

Deepest sympathy to all of Pat’s family at this sad time. Pat’s great skills as a stevedore ensured the successful handling of many difficult cargoes at Fenit port. Where others saw problems, Pat saw solutions. Rest in peace Pat.

I got to know Pat when I first travelled with the Kerry Supporters Club back in 2002. He instantly made feel welcome and I always enjoyed our chats whether it was at the Poitin Still or in Mountjoy Square as we waited for the bus.
Pat was full of fun, positivity and mischief. He loved the hop ball and he loved the sing song and would always strike up Donkey Quiote which had everyone in stitches.
He will be sorely missed by all of his many friends in the Kerry Supporters Club.
