I am devasted to learn of Paddy's death far too late to pay my respects. He was a champion defender and acted for me, pro bono, on many occasions. He was also great fun and I had many a laugh in his company. May his dear soul rest in peace.

We were childhood friends and neighbours into our teens and it was clear, even then , that Paddy had exceptional insight, and a fascinating and brilliant mind , I loved his humour too. Happy days remembered Paddy , with gratitude.

My sincere condolences to the MacEntee family on the passing of Paddy, who was a true gentleman. I had the privilege of watching him in Court and memories of how one could hear a pin drop, as he addressed the Jury in his many closing speeches. Even as small children running around at various family gatherings we were somehow aware that Paddy was so highly regarded and a force of goodness which only seemed to grow as we grew up into teenagers and beyond. Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Paddy. I was a colleague of his in the Law Library and while in awe of this great advocate he was so helpful and approachable.
He represented what a true advocate was and should be.

I was saddened to learn of Paddy’s death. He was a wonderful colleague, Chairman of the Bar Council and, above all, a brilliant advocate. The remark below that he was “simply the best”is well deserved.

I knew Paddy personally . He was a true gentleman. Very few in the legal profession will ever come close to Paddy’s level of competency or ability. Paddy was simply the best.
