We also had some very enjoyable staff nights out together. Pat was always an absolute gentleman and great company. I feel very lucky to have known him. Thinking of you Winnie & all Pat's adored family & friends at the sad and lonely time. Tabhair aire.

I had the pleasure of serving on Moynalty Community Council Muintir na Tire with Pat for many years. He was kind enough to take me under his wing and offer his expert and assiduous advice and encouragement when I succeeded him as Secretary. His eye for detail and deep interest in community development made him a tremendous assest to our organisation. He has left a lasting and abiding legacy in the hundreds of students that passed through Maio NS during his long and distinguished teaching career. Pat made a valuable and valued contribution to public life in Moynalty and Maio for over 40 years which will never be forgotten. He also represented us on the national board of Muintir na Tire during some difficult years for the organisation, he did so with honour and decency. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Pat and my father, Charlie, were good friends, both hailing from Donegal, both being principals of rural Meath schools and both being dedicated to the community of Moynalty. I had the pleasure of meeting Pat on a number of occasions and found him to be an absolute gentleman. Rest in eternal peace Pat.
