It was with great sadness that I heard of Pat's passing. I worked with Sliabh Luachra ADM is the early days and Pat was involved in all aspects of the organisation. He was a gentleman, pragmatic, sensible and fair. He offered his time across a range of community, sporting and development activities with good nature. He will be missed.
I extend my condolences to his family at this sad time.

It was with great shock and sadness that we heard of Pat's sudden passing, and we offer our sincere condolences to Donna, their children and grandchild, his extended family and many friends. Pat was a great mentor and friend to me, and I will always appreciate his kindness, straight-talking, humour and unbelievable knowledge, which he readily shared with all. Through his work with Sliabh Luachra, NEWKD and the many other initiatives he was involved in right up to his untimely passing, he made a massive contribution to sustaining and developing community. Dear Donna and family. My sincere condolences to you all on the sudden death of Mitch. My late husband Colm (Kirwan) was on the TUI Executive with him. We lived in Wicklow at the time and after meetings, Mitch would fill him in about local news in Castleisland. No doubt they are discussing education issues now, where ever their spirits are. Pat thought me in the seventies a great teacher our friendship went on to working with Mitch in the Labs in the Rtc where we did labs together.me as a technical officer we covered for each other on the Labs. His sense of fun was brilliant, we had great time’s together in an out of the RTC and Institute. A great Electronic person, sorry his not with us I will miss him as part of my life. May he rest in peace my buddy Pat.

Pat gave outstanding service to the Co. Kerry Branch of the Teachers Union of Ireland / TUI, he served as an Area Rep. on the TUI National Executives & he always strived for improvements in the working conditions for us teachers.

On his retirement Pat continued as a Member of the Retired Members Association of the Teachers Union of Ireland/ RMA TUI.

May the sod lay lightly on his remains.

I am very sorry to hear of Pat's death. I remember him fondly from the Bullring Office at ITT and walking with him, on the first Camino trip for staff, many years ago. A man with a steady pace and wicked sense of humour. Occasionally Pat handed me a hard boiled egg from the stash boiled in Carmel Farrelly's electric kettle the night before, as sustainance till we came to a shop or cafe.
