John Patrick and Brendan - I offer you my sincere condolences on the death of Paddy. I’m sorry I am unable to join you for the funeral but my thoughts will be with you all, over the coming difficult days. I recall many happy encounters I had with Paddy over the years. In particular I remember the summer of ‘66 in London where as a student I spent two wonderful months with Paddy and Clare. I enjoyed working as a bar man after Paddy fixed me up in his local The.Red Lion! Our cousin Marion was also accommodated that summer. There is great credit due to both of them for the manner in which they made your home at No. 22 available to many Irish relatives over the years who worked in London. May his dear soul now rest in peace.
