It is with sadness that we have just learned of the death of Paddy. I worked with his Dad Jimmy in the ESB in the late 60s and met Paddy with his sister's when they sang at Talent competitions.
I enjoyed Paddy's book on Drumanagh and many conversations on Roman and Irish History.
Paddy was a gentle man and a scholar.

Farewell Paddy, loyal friend. We were happy childhood playmates, teenage dancers, comrade soldiers, soldiering in Lebanon together, sharing in weddings, funerals, walking the Dingle peninsula, looking at whales, and other wonders, archaeological digs, Gaeltacht visits, Lisdoonvarna, and retirees enjoying retirement. Friends for over 70 years. Thanks for sharing the wonderful richness of our lives! Adieu, Paddy. I'm glad you were my best friend. But especially during the dark times when I needed a friend.
