Dear Anne,
Ann & I are very sorry to hear of the death of your beloved Paddy RIP
I have known for more than sixty years. He was always a pleasure to meet and carried his legendary status with great humility. He was truly a wonderful human being who treated friend and foe alike on the GAA fields of Ireland with dignity and respect.
He made a major contribution to his beloved O’Connell Boys and Dublin GAA teams, in addition to being a successful business man.
I know his death will leave a big gap in yours and your families lives as well as all those who were lucky enough to have known him. You can take some solace in your grief from the-fact that he was admired by so many people through the country.
We send our deepest sympathies to you all.

Give me o Lord a Footballers skill
With strength of arm and speed of limb
Unerring eye for the flying ball
And courage to match them whatever befall
May my aim be steady - my Kick be true
My actions brave - my misses few
And no matter what way the game may go
May I part in friendship with every foe
When the final whistle for me is blown
And I stand at last at Gods Judgement Throne
May the great Referee say when he calls my name .. Paddy
"You played like a man-You played the game"
Our deepest sympathy to Ann, Anthony, Elizabeth and Andrew on the
sad passing of Paddy from this life. May he Rest in peace.
Sympathy also to all of the Grandchildren, relatives and friends.
An ardent fan of Paddy in the seventies, and what great enjoyment he
brought to Gaelic Football and to all people.
In the Dublin prayer it said that He guarded his Goals with Style and
Grace. A master.
