We have great memories of him visiting West Cork (Ardgehane). Always well dressed and a smile on his face. When my Dad and Paddy got together they had some laughs and adventures.!

I was so shocked to hear of Paddy's
death when I called to the garage this morning.
I knew Paddy for many years. He worked in PJ O'Heas with my then husband Dan Kennedy back in 1967 to 1970. He was very friendly with my late husband Neil Stafford when we worked for Irish Polysacks in Blarney in the 1970s. Paddy looked after all our cars. He did a great job and we all thought the world of him.
He was a great man and will be sadly missed by many people.

to the extended hoare family.so sad to hear of paddies passing.one day i was planning my next visit to see him,the next he was gone.as far back as i remember there was paddy his best friend hughie o leary,and there were cars.unreliable cars that broke down regularly and there were the guys that got them going again.often in inclement weather and late into the evenings.i remember fishing trips to killarney,coming home wet up to the armpits and travelling home in the very back of a vw beetle sitting over the engine in search of heat.stopping for black porter and tanora on the way back.all great memories .end of an era,they dont make men like that anymore.he got a great send off it was good to chat with you all in the castle hotel.great memories the pictures of back in the day were great.he never looked as happy as when he was with his grandchildren,greatgranchildren.slan leat,chris o leary

Donal I only found out recently your Grandad passed away and want to pass on my sympathy to you and to all your Grandad’s family. I didn’t know him personally but from the stories you shared with me while we were working together in Elverys I got a sense of the man he was and how he lived his life to the full. I know you were very close to him and loved spending time with him on your various pursuits and trips. They are amazing memories to have of him and you will really appreciate those memories more as you go through life. Please pass on my sympathy to your Nan and your Dad and all your family. May your Grandad rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Paddy's passing - I remember as a youngster in the 1970s going to his garage with my father, Paddy when he would service our VW Beetle and then meeting him in more recent years when he would ask about my mother, Betty and we would talk about how the angling was going - a true gentleman. My sympathies to you all on your sad loss.
