Grandad was not just my grandad, he was like a father figure and a friend as he would always call me his "friend" and I was his. It's going to be difficult to imagine a life where hes not here anymore but in a sense hes not in pain anymore and that's what matters the most. I am glad he did get to meet all his grandchildren before he passed and he was a wonderful father to his five children.
He was the best Grandad anyone could ask for, he loved all of us and laughed with us as we watched our favourite films together (Agnes Browne, Flight of the Doves, Quiet Man to name a few). He was a big softie and a very special man and I can just imagine him laughing and telling his stories to his friends and family up there and smoking his cigar that I put into his pocket (You're Welcome Grandad).

I've had the good fortune to have known Paddy for a number of years and he always made me feel welcome in his home. He was as opinionated as I am and staunch with it, which is why we got along so well. His passing has left a hole in everyone's life that can never be filled but I certainly feel privileged for having had him as my father in law and indeed, my friend. Rest in peace Paddy, you will be sorely missed.

To Josie and the Norton family on the passing of a dear Husband and Dad. It was a great have known Paddy over the years, meeting him at his home, at Our Lady's Grotto in Walkinstown and at different Masses where he invariable attended with Josie at his side. It was great to discuss with him various current topics and get his opinion which was always wise and informed. So may Paddy rest in peace of the Lord and his mother Mary in whom in this life he placed his trust.
