Paddy contacted me last June 2024 , he's was a very good friend to brother Peter Doyle who died suddenly , in May of 2023 , paddy went out of his way to make contact with me after all his searching for Peter's family he eventually left his phone number with the undertaker who rang me .
I'll got in touch with paddy and he was telling stories of Peter and himself on there adventures at the beach and up in the mountains, enjoying the walk together , peter was great friend and support to him .
Which was lovely to heard as my own brother (Peter ) had suffered with his own mental health over years and had fallen out with his family .
I'll hope this message will bring smile to u all at this sad time , my deepest condolences to paddy daughter and sister and his dad .
I'll know paddy and Peter are having good old catch up together.
Sent u all love and light

Sincere condolences to Paddy’s family and friends.
Paddy was one of the smartest, warmest, and most generous people I’ve ever met. I grew up with him, went to school with him, and had countless adventures with him.
Paddy was a great storyteller. He could turn an ordinary event into an epic tale that would leave us in tears of laughter. He was less accomplished at straight-up jokes - he’d often remember the punchline halfway through and collapse laughing before he could finish.
Paddy suffered more blows in his life than anyone should have to bear, but through it all, he never lost his sense of humour or warmth.
He was always out and about, meeting people and observing the world. He would notice things that most of us would miss. He was deeply interested and interesting.
He had an encyclopedic knowledge of Irish flora and fauna, and he loved nothing more than being out in nature.
He was our leader on many long hikes in the mountains. He was tasked with navigation, but whenever he was asked how much farther there was to go, he would answer with his mantra: “The distance is the distance.”
The distance was far too short, Paddy.

Paddy, I don't know what to say. I am just speechless as i was told of your passing a mere 20 minutes or so after it happened.
I first met you in AA in Summer 2010 as you dated a woman, that i won't bother to name as she is not worth that mention.
I quickly became friends with you from there on in. You gave me inspiration, hope and great memories in the early 2010's especially and you continued to be one of my very best friends right up until you passed this year.
As you always said one foot in front of the other, head down, keep walking and all will be grand. You always had some words of wisdom to say, no matter how amazing or silly they were haha
I love you and miss you man.
All the laughs , adventures and hanging out.
You are now with your beloved mother whom you mentioned throughout the years. See you on the other side brother x

As the old Irish saying goes,
“Ní imithe uainn atá siad, ach imithe romhainn.”
They are not gone from us, but gone before us. May you find comfort in the small, steady steps of each day, knowing their spirit walks softly beside you.
So long ,my dear friend.
