For many years he patrolled the rail line between Cobh and Glouthaune walking the line three days a week rain hail or shine ensuring the tracks were safe for trains to run upon.on finishing his patrol he would call to the signal cabin report his findings to the duty signalman sit down have a cup of tea and a chat which he thoroughly enjoyed He was a Gentleman of the line .Rest in peace Paddy you have earned it .
