Patrick (Paddy) Sexton

My sincere condolences to Kathleen, Barry and Louise, Paul and Geraldine and the extended Sexton family. I was so sorry to have missed Paddy's funeral. I was in hospital and only heard of Paddy's passing afterwards. He was a lovely man, always supported the swimming club agus bhí lán grá aige don Ghaeilge i gcónaí. In later years I loved the chats with him and Kathleen when I met them out walking.

Only heard of Paddy's passing yesterday(18/10/24). So sorry to hear that Paddy isn't with us anymore.Sincerest sympathy to you Kathleen and all the Sexton family.I had the good fortune to teach with Paddy in the old DLS in Skerries for a short few years (72-76) and enjoyed his friendship ,support,and love of life.
A highlight of my wedding day in 1978 was Paddy's rendering of Skibereen.I had asked could he sing.I remember Kathleen smiling quietly to herself!Could he sing?What a beautiful voice!
Paddy you were one in a million.Rest peacefully old friend in the Paradise you deserve so much.

I was very sorry to hear of Paddy's death.

My family and I wish to convey to you Kathleen and family our very deepest sympathy. Paddy was a loyal cousin, great friend and neighbour. I have very fond memories of the great times we had at his parent's house in Dooneen.

We visited each other regularly and when Fr. Sonny came home on holidays it was always a very special time. We gathered there almost every night for a chat and sing song with friends and neighbours.

We all moved on in life but Paddy always kept in touch and never failed to send the Christmas card.

To Kathleen, Paul and Barry and to Geraldine and Louise and the 4 grand children, Sympathy to you all on the death of Paddy. such a great loss to you his family in particular. I was so lucky when I started my teaching career in the Old De La Salle in Skerries to have had him as Vice- Principal, and to have had him there in the newer versions of the old DE LA until the day he retired. Such a lovely man. Always supportive, considerate and helpful. I have many happy memories of Paddy over many years.

So sad and sorry to hear of Mr Sextons passing. He was a legend of a man. We will miss him on our visits to Bartra. Our sympathies to Kathleen.. Their devotion was heartwarming. Andre Anne and Ger Gibney.

Mr Sexton retired while I was in my last year in the Holy Faith and I remember thinking those grateful I was that it did retired before I left .

Dear Kathleen Paul Barry and all your families, it’s with a heavy heart we write this condolence. Paddy was a close cousin and good friend. We had many times together in years gone by with lots of “relation tracing” and great memories of holiday times with late nights and plenty conversation. Our last conversation with Paddy was a few short years ago, sitting next to him and Kathleen at Cafe Jacques. He was brimming with study tips for the boys! In the years prior we'd often seen him at the community games or the rugby club. Our sincere condolences to the entire Sexton family. Skerries has lost another cherished member of its community.
